PROJECT TO PRODUCE BUS FUEL FROM BIOLOGICAL WASTE SHORTLISTED FOR ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AWARD

Circular transport is a project that could transform our view of fueling public transport in our country. The fundamental idea is to use biomethane produced from biodegradable waste as fuel for buses. The so-called BioCNG was first tested in Brno last autumn in collaboration with the Brno Transport Authority and the results exceeded all expectations. The idea and the environmental impact intrigued the jury of the E.ON Energy Globe competition which sent the Circular Transport project to the final round. The winners are now to be decided by a public vote.
