EDIH – Brain4Industry

The European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) – Brain4Industry supports small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises in implementing innovative technologies — particularly in the areas of artificial intelligence, 3D manufacturing systems, and other digital solutions.

SIC as a Consortium Member

SIC is part of the consortium together with the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, the HiLASE laser centre, CARDAM s.r.o., the Institute of Thermomechanics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the STAR Research and Innovation Cluster.

A Unique Ecosystem

Brain4Industry connects research, industry, the public sector, and international partners, creating strong synergies.

Comprehensive Expertise

Thanks to in-depth knowledge of the entire manufacturing process, Brain4Industry provides companies with tailor-made technological solutions — including testing and validation.

About Brain4Industry

Brain4Industry is a science–industry consortium aimed at transferring cutting-edge research results into practice. It focuses on digitalisation, additive and laser technologies, and the application of artificial intelligence in manufacturing.

The hub is based in Dolní Břežany, where it operates a state-of-the-art laser centre and experimental laboratories. It helps companies identify areas where digitalisation brings the highest added value and proposes concrete technological solutions.

Access to public funding – SMEs can finance Brain4Industry services under the de minimis scheme.

Commercial cooperation – Large industrial companies can collaborate without using public support.

Grant collaboration – Companies can leverage academic expertise and jointly apply for grant-funded projects.

Forms of Cooperation

Initial Assessment

Identification of areas suitable for digitalisation and expected benefits.

Digitalisation Project Preparation / Commercial Cooperation

Design of solutions, implementation of changes, and process optimisation.

Technological Optimisation / Grant Cooperation

Improving the efficiency of manufacturing and technological processes.

LASER PRO

The LASER PRO project develops a comprehensive laser innovation ecosystem that connects academia, industry, government, and society. The consortium, led by HiLASE and FTMC, represents a balanced combination of research institutions, small and medium-sized enterprises, innovation agencies, and public bodies from three countries — the Czech Republic, Lithuania, and Ukraine.

MERIT

Transfer of international knowledge and experience into research centres and companies in the Central Bohemian Region, while also strengthening the region’s international reputation.
