Science and Technology Counselor of the Chinese Embassy visited SIC

Mrs. Guo Xiaolin, Science and Technology Counselor of the Chinese Embassy, visited SIC to discuss the cooperation with China in the area of research and development.

The Head of strategic interventions, Athziri Moreno Romo, presented Central Bohemian Region in terms of economic, research and development, and in the context of the whole Czech Republic. „R&D is a driver for economic growth in Central Bohemia as well as in China and there is great potential in bilateral cooperation. We need to encourage our research organisations and enterprises to take advantage of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two countries in this field in 2016,“ added Moreno Romo.

SIC also presented the activities undertaken with our Chinese partner Shenghuashidai, a technology incubator located in Chengdu, with whom we have a cooperation agreement since August 2016.

The S3 Manager, Ivo Říha, presented targets of the RIS3 strategy and its implementation in the region.

Mrs. Xiaolin mentioned, that based on the Memorandum of Understanding on Joint Research Development between the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Science and Technology of China signed on 23 March 2016, we can work together to identify potential participants for the joint call 2017-2018, that aims to support the mobility of researchers collaborating in international projects in basic and applied research and innovation. Applicants for support under this call may be research organizations and small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in research and development. The new call will be opened at the end of this year.
